Phase 2 of the Gravel Walking and Biking trail has been the focus in the past few months. The trail extension offers a safer way for students who walk to and from the Bus Stop. The new portion of the trail begins at the top of the Bus Stop parking lot, crosses Colonial Dr., extends parallel to Lake Holiday Road, crosses Masters Drive between the ponds, and continues to Lakeview Drive.
This extension also provides residents with an additional route for exercising or enjoying a stroll through the natural habitat along the former golf course. This new trail is approximately 1-mile in length and includes several drainage culverts. Phase 3 will connect this extension to the loop at Country Club Park.
Prior to work proceeding on Phase 4 and the proposed Phase 5, LHCC and the construction company performing the work will assess the exact location based on terrain, and that in turn will inform budget estimates.
Phases 0 and 1 (see map) are existing trails that extend from the mail station across from the Clubhouse on Lakeview Drive to Country Club Park, and a loop from the first tee of the Disc Golf Course at the park to the large pond on West Masters Drive and back to the park.
