During this pandemic, arrival of food vendors to service the LH community has been well received, for the most part. In an over-whelming response, Fizzle’s Bar-B-Q sold out of beef and pork well before closing time. Mattie’s Soft Serve and Creative Creations (kettle corn and fruit drinks) were also popular and did well.
Eric Zimmerman, photographer and LH resident, submitted several new photos for consideration for the opening page of the new LH website. I selected a picture of the front entrance with the trees in full bloom. It has been suggested to change the picture monthly with photos submitted by members of the community. The Board will discuss the feasibility of this idea.
The Board had a successful trail run at a telecommunication meeting. GM Mike did an outstanding job organizing the meeting using Outlook Team options, which run similarly to Zoom. The official April Board meeting will be the first telecommuting ever used at Lake Holiday and will be available to the community.
GM Mike, as expected, is having problems getting contractors to respond to small jobs such as installing speed bumps or making upgrades at the marina. It may be Fall before some of the projects are started and completed.
The new electric speed indicator sign blew over in the high winds and destroyed some of the components. With so many businesses shut down, contacting the vendor was a challenge, but parts have been ordered.
At the April meeting, the Board will reassess the closures as mandated by Governor Northam as they pertain to Lake Holiday.
