
Town Hall Plans Underway: Customarily, a Town Hall community meeting is held in February to introduce the Board to the community and give residents an opportunity to express concerns and ask the Directors questions. In keeping with tradition, this year’s meeting will be February 22nd, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. The doors will open at 9:30 for coffee and conversation. During the second half of the meeting John Stover from the TechComm Committee will give a presentation on the new Lake Holiday Website.
Updates: Newly elected members to the Board of Directors for Lake Holiday (LH) have received training on legal responsibilities by LH Attorney Doug McCarthy. A broad range of topics was covered dealing with the POA Act, Non-Stock Corporation Rules, PRPs, Articles of Incorporation, and other governing documents.
As a reminder this new year, boaters may need to complete testing of boating rules (required every two years), and purchase permits and stickers for the 2020 season.
I have asked Staff to continue to post when the back gate is open and then closed during inclement weather so members will know the status when driving to and from work.
The contract for the annual fireworks display during the Independence Day celebration was finalized this week. The date is set for Friday, July 3rd, 2020 at 9:00 p.m. Rain date is July 5th, 2020.
Goals for LH over the past few years have been accomplished with a number of projects and objectives set for 2020 still being formalized.
January Board Meeting Notes: The Board voted to further study the flooring replacement options and pricing for the Clubhouse. The Board also voted to not make any flooring replacements in the Clubhouse until 2021.
The Board approved the installation of two speed humps on West Masters Drive. The Board tabled the Safety Committee’s request for additional stop signs, but did approve several caution signs which include “Sharp Curve”.
