More than 60 attendees turned out for the Town Hall Meeting on March 23rd, 2019 to take part in interactive discussions on Fishery, Lake, and Tributary-related topics. Jon Reedy, Co-Chairman of the Lake Committee, which sponsored the event, led the meeting and introduced special guests.
Steve Fender of Fender’s Fish Hatchery, the Ohio-based company that stocked Lake Holiday with 860 smallmouth bass and 340 walleye last year, spoke on Fishery Management, Stocking, and Harvest.
Mike Hartshorne of Princeton Hydro gave a presentation on Water Quality Sampling Results from 2018 and discussed Best Management Practices for the upcoming summer season.
Both speakers fielded numerous questions from the audience. One topic that generated a lot of interest was the installation of Floating Wetland Islands as a potential future project for multiple ecological benefits including control of algae growth, providing a habitat for fish, and erosion impacts.
