We are writing to assure the Membership that staff are working to ensure preparations are appropriate for the approaching hurricane. I have been and will remain in contact with our dam engineer and DCR regarding the storm.
Jill Whitacre is coordinating with the maintenance crew regarding on-site preparations and has them checking and cleaning out common area drainage areas in preparation for heavy rains, ensuring equipment is ready, and ensuring the crew is on-call to respond once the potentially heavy rains and strong winds begin.
We will continue to keep a close eye on this one as it approaches and will take additional action as necessary. Please contact Jill in the Administration Office if assistance is needed with community communications in advance of the storm.
It is advisable to act now that everyone act now to prepare for the storm:
- Secure and/or put away any free-standing items, furniture, etc. outside/around your home.
- Go to the store and get your supplies now (food, water, batteries, etc.) Waiting until closer to the weekend will mean waiting in longer lines and likely items out-of-stock.
- Check on your neighbors throughout and call 911 in the event of any emergency.
- Be prepared for the potential for widespread utility outages, have fuel for generators, etc.
- Be safe!
Respectfully,
Mike Goodwin, GM
