Clubhouse Closure: Effective immediately, the LHCC Clubhouse will be closed for all business and activities. This action comes per a mandate by Governor Northam in response to the current coronavirus and as it pertains to office closures and large gatherings. The closures are temporary and will be re-evaluted as the situation progresses. following precautions have been implemented.

Administrative Office:  LHCC office staff will be teleworking from home. General Manager Mike Goodwin has ensured that staff members have mobile access to all critical information and operational technology via the internet. This includes account information and processing, phone messages, emails, necessary forms, and access to saved files on their office desktops.

Incoming paperwork will continue to arrive via mail, accountant office packages, by way of the community drop box, and electronically. Payments may be made via the secure drop box at the Gatehouse. If a member requires a form that they do not have access to, an email request may result in the delivery of an electronic copy or, if necessary, a print copy may be left at the gatehouse for pickup.  Phone messages would result in a return call as appropriate, and arising issues addressed in prompt fashion.

Basically, we have the capability to conduct all business transactions without unnecessary delay and without face-to-face interactions in a physical office.  Staff will be in communication with each other and with the GM daily to facilitate necessary teamwork and to address any issues that may arise. The office closure will be revisited weekly.

Fitness Center:  By Governor’s order that all gyms in Virginia be shut down, the LHCC exercise room on the lower level of the Clubhouse is closed through the month of April. The closure will be re-evaluated the next regular meeting of the Board of Directors on April 28th, 2020.

Social Events:  All social events and gatherings at the Clubhouse are cancelled through the month of April. This includes all LHCC group/club/committee activities and all rentals of the facility for events. For planning purposes, everyone should be aware that the Clubhouse closure may extend into May or longer.

Committee Meetings:  The Clubhouse is closed to all committees for meetings through the month of April.

While we recognize the inconveniences, these extreme actions are being implemented in accordance with official guidelines. the government is urging people to avoid gatherings in order to slow the spread of the virus. While for most people the coronavirus causes only mild or moderate symptoms, for elderly persons and those with certain underlying health conditions, the virus can be serious, even deadly.

Many thanks for everyone’s patience and understanding during this extremely unusual time. Please extend the same patience and understanding when communicating with staff and administration. Everyone be well, stay well, and continue to assist one another as you are able!
