WHAT IS A MASTER PLAN? The Lake Holiday Country Club Master Plan is our 10-year vision for land use and capital improvements. The Master Plan is reviewed and revised annually by the Master Planning Committee to update needs and prioritize projects which may develop over time with input from the General Manager, association committees, and general membership and approval by the Board of Directors. Periodic surveys provide the membership an opportunity to influence Association planning. The Master Plan is intended to be used by the Board and committees to guide resource planning and decisions for maintaining the current amenities and for improving and enhancing them in the future. The Master Plan is a valuable document to manage fiscal responsibility now and in the future. It also is an educational and informational document available to new members of the Association and other interested parties.
The LHCC Board approved the Master Plan at the last regular meeting. The Master Plan can be found here: 2017 Lake Holiday Master Plan v1.0
HIGHLIGHTS… The golf course land is prime real estate, but without a developer/financial sponsor this property will never become a golf course. Instead, we advocate that this land be developed as a Community Hub. The idea is to add park-like amenities to this area thus giving community members a place to enjoy the great outdoors.
The following amenities are proposed: Hiking/Biking/Walking trails (currently under development), horseshoe pits, dog park, disc golf course https://youtu.be/U1FSkJpImps, multi-use sports field, and eventually a pavilion.
We would also like to create Pine Knoll Vista, a piece of waterfront land that when developed will provide a quiet place to view the lake and perhaps enjoy a picnic. We are also advocating improvements to Beach II and III. Down the road, we would like to see a pavilion and bath-house added to Beach II and continue to improve upon Beach III. These are just some of the ideas that we’ve placed in the Master Plan.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS… The document developed during 2017 is version 1.0; it will be continually improved and updated year after year. The committee accepts that it is not complete but a very good starting point and something to build upon; we have developed a list of areas to improve the contents on next year. Once you’ve reviewed the document we’d like to hear what you think. Please use the following link to comment: http://bit.ly/LHMPFeedback .
